Senator Faith Winter, beloved mother, sister, daughter, partner, friend, and champion for a more just and compassionate Colorado, died tragically on November 26, 2025. She was 45 years old. Her sudden passing has left a deep ache in the hearts of her family, friends, and the countless people whose lives she touched.

Faith lived her life with an open heart. She was a woman who believed profoundly in the power of community, in the dignity of every person, and in the idea that the world could always be made just a little bit better. Those who knew her well will remember her laughter that warmed a room, the way she leaned in when she listened, the steadiness she brought to chaos, and her unwavering belief that people, in all our complexity, are worth fighting for.

Her two children were the center of her world. Every achievement, every late-night bill negotiation, every public battle she waged came back to them. She wanted a future where they, and all children, could thrive in a cleaner, fairer, kinder Colorado. She spoke often of her pride in them, her hopes for them, and the joy she found simply being their mom.

Faith's public service spanned more than a decade, from the Westminster City Council to the Colorado House of Representatives and the Colorado State Senate. She carried her values into every committee room and every debate: compassion, courage, fairness, and the belief that government should lift people up. Whether she was fighting for better transportation, climate protections, working families, or gender equity, she never forgot why she was there, to serve.

But Faith was not defined only by her work. She was someone who nurtured friendships with tenderness and loyalty. She found joy in small things, a good story, a shared meal, the comfort of her dogs, watching her children grow, the beauty of Colorado's sky. She had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and encouraged. Many who crossed her path speak not of her titles, but of her kindness.

Her loss is felt deeply across the state she loved. Tributes have poured in from colleagues, neighbors, and community members, all echoing the same truth: Faith made Colorado a better place not just through policy, but through the love, empathy, and fierce humanity she brought into every space she entered.

Faith is survived by her beloved children, Tobin (16) and Sienna (14), her fiancé Matt and his children Ellie (12) and Theo (9), her father Mike and sister Dawn (Stan), her aunt Joan (Dan), uncle Mark (Sherry), and her darling fur babies, Queso, Olive, Peanut, and Pickles; she was preceded in death by her mother Sharon. Faith will be remembered by a host of family, close friends, and a community that will forever miss her light.
