Senate District 15

Senator Janice Marchman was elected to the Colorado Senate in 2022 to represent Boulder County and Larimer County at the State Capitol. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Education Committee and as a member of the Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee.

Janice was born and raised on air force bases across the country, attending 14 different schools before graduating High School in South Georgia. After graduation, she attended Georgia Tech, where she met her husband, Mike, and earned an Industrial and Systems engineering degree. For six years, she worked as a trained systems engineer in California.

Later in life, she became a teacher and has been teaching in Loveland for the last six years, an experience that has been incredibly rewarding and inspiring. She served as Vice President of the Thompson School Board for three years and, working with local community leaders, played an integral role in bringing pro-public school policy back to the board, strengthening local school funding, and improving educational opportunity.

As a parent, school board member of a 16,000 student school district and largest employer in Loveland, and now as a public school teacher, Janice understands the needs of students and parents. She knows the challenges working families face to make ends meet, and she empathizes with our retired neighbors who struggle to afford their property taxes and health care. Janice is dedicated to serving as a voice for Colorado’s working communities.

In her role as an elected official, Janice serves as a member of her community who understands what it means to struggle under financial hardship, who has felt what it is like to be without representation, and who will give a voice to the values of working families and parents.

Janice is committed to supporting policies that address homelessness, help those with behavioral health conditions, address financial hardship, develop jobs and living wages, increase affording housing, deliver quality health care for all, and preserve our Colorado way of life.

Janice lives with her husband Mike of 23 years and their two teenage children in Loveland.
